Emerging Africa Youth Leaders Project (EAYLP)
The current development challenges being faced by Africa youth and indeed the developing world requires a generation of young leaders that will use the available resources and indeed even harnessing new one to Africa on the map to human development and economic recovery.
A great challenge which indeed the Africa continent faces are that of regenerating young leaders that will be knowledge based, technologically driven and African rotted who will compete in a world which is increasingly enveloped by market forces and international diplomacy.
The effect of globalization and increase in economic and political integration entails that Africa present a formidable force in leadership to the rest of the world.
The objective of EAYLP will include:
1. Discovering future young leaders
2. Nurturing discovered future young leaders
3. Providing opportunities for training and mentoring for emerging young leaders in various fields in Africa, hence maintaining and sustaining them.
This project will be executed in collaboration with Ghanaian and Africa first and second cycle and universities, and international Institutions/Organizations
Programme on Leadership, Democracy and Good Governance (LDGG)
Leadership, Democracy and Good Governance programme would focuses on enhancing the quality of leadership groomed from the Emerging Africa Youth Leaders Project to provide good governance by promoting adherence to due processes, rule of law, free and fair electoral process and advocating for transparent and accountable governance.
The following will be the core elements of LGG:
*Rule of law and Constitutionalism Programme
*Programme on Democracy and Elections
*Foster Value Re-orientation and Ethics in (Youth) Leadership
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
To empower young people with practical skills required to engage the democratic process and leadership question of our nation.
This is a knowledge based Leadership, democracy and good governance program aimed at deepening the understanding of young people on democracy with a view of promoting active youth participation in the democratization process in Africa. The Leadership and Good Governance is our way of saying young people are working to become more active in making democracy grow, development more sustainable, leadership more responsive and accountable, human dignity and the rule of law more appreciated.
THEMATIC FOCUS
Understanding youth leadership, Democracy and Good governance - Concept of Democracy, regime types, issues of democratization are meticulously engaged.
Participation - explores what participation means to young people, strategic points of getting actively involved and tools of engagement among others.
Leadership - how leadership impacts governance, styles of leadership, the act and art of leadership are explicitly treated.
